In the mega code scenario #3, the answers provided point to Shocking a pulseless rhythm (I.e PEA). I am confused since I thought you cannot shock pea or systole! Can someone clarify?

Atropine 1mg can increase HR to a much higher level that can induce myocardial ischemia. Therefore, new guidelines recommend 0.5mg Atropine. Although, pacing is the better choice for bradycardia algorithm. Atropine is no longer recommended in the Asystole/PEA algorithm because there is no evidence that it improves outcomes.

    All the best in Christ,

A really great review…easier to remember when you apply to real scenarios rather than just studying the algorithms…

I stumbled upon this site the night before ACLS recertification. Wonderful site, will tell classmates about it tomorrow. I thank you and commend you both for this gift. Wish you were listed as resources for studying ACLS. Have you thought about contacting AHA? Blessings to you too!
