Is it in an organized manner to learn from or do I have to skip around to each section and just read the sections.

Yeah I can’t explain what I am asking but hope you can understand me. I have to take both tests and score a 100 when i take the acls instructors course so want to be very prepared especially since I have not had to do a code in over 2 years.

    Thank you.

Thanks for a great prep site. Makes actual testing day a breeze. If you want to take the worry and stress out of ACLS, sign up.
Looking forward to your PALS site. Hope it is ready for my recert in March 2015.
Thanks again, I will be recommending your site to fellow nurses.

I took the two week crash course and passed my megacode and exam with flying colors. Thanks to your site and the way you presented all the information in it. I’m so glad I found it and I also recommended it to others. See you in two years!!! Keep up the great work!! (“,)

Dear Jeff, I completed ACLS today. The mega code went perfect and I passed the test. I made a couple of dumb mistakes on the test

but know what I did wrong. I’ve told everyone about your site. Thank you for a great comprehensive site with up to date information. Thank you, Pam

    Hello Jeff
I was wondering something; if the AED is not functioning properly. you can not get a rhythm, would you begin CPR?

    • Jeff with admin. says

That is correct. If the AED is not working, you would continue CPR and you would activate emergency services. Hopefully, another AED would be available ASAP. Another point would be to completely disconnect the non-functional AED and remove it from site. If emergency services arriving sees an AED on a patient, they may be slowed in attaching an operational AED.

      Kind regards,
      Jeff

    Dear Jeff,
This is a wonderful site. I had my ACLS testing yesterday and I passed! Using this site helped me gain confidence and made studying much more enjoyable. Thank you.

I do have one suggestion. During our megacode testing, we were asked to take the process a couple steps further, including post cardiac interventions (ex. what are the indications for therapeutic hypothermia, and what else could/should you do) and to think of possible causes of the event (i.e. H’s and T’s). Do you think in the future you might be able to add some of these types of questions to the megacode practices that you provide? You do have them mentioned in your videos, but our instructor had us go in depth. An example being of the possible causes (i.e. the patient is intubated, but lung sounds could only be heard on the left side, what do you think caused the event? Looking at the H’s and T’s, possible tension pneumothorax.) An example of PCI would be, you have successfully resuscitated and stabilized the patient what do you do now? Get an EKG, assess if the patient can follow commands, IV fluids, IV drips…etc. etc. etc.

I do want to thank you again for this site and the work involved in putting this site together. It is an excellent site, and I will recommend this to everyone I meet who needs ACLS.

Thank you very much for the comments and feedback at the site. Your suggestions and comments are very good ones. I will definitely be incorporating the suggestions that you made into the site. The information that you mention is addressed throughout the site, but adding more post arrest questions will add to the experience and learning. Repetition is the key to learning the algorithms and concepts.

      Thank you,
      Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
I was in a hurry getting my ACLS license, immediately after seeing a next day available spot I grabbed it. With scant knowledge of basic ECG and emergency medications, I was a totally limp after the class and panic what I was into. PS I didn’t even recognize a simple VF!!! Then I stumbled on your site, I hold my exam for another week and just study your Megacode and drills of exam. Happy to say I passed and your site made it so easy. I didn’t even got a change to open the book. I must say I bow down on the techniques and the sharing of the knowledge. Thank you and God speed.

see again in 2 years :),
