    Hi,
I did my renewal yesterday and for the first time since I became certified, I felt confident during the mock codes. I am so glad I found this site and I will share it with my coworkers. Well, see you in two years and best wishes. : )

This is the best site that I’ve come across. I am new to ACLS and I was a bit overwhelmed by the manual and wasn’t feeling like I could bring it all together. This website is clear, concise, and I feel like I am better prepared for the course now. A huge Thanks!!

thank you for offering this site. I studied the book, without input from an instructor or access to rhythm strips. The instructor was very rigid. Said I killed my patient in the megacode, as I could not make the chest rise with the ambu bag as I was leading the team and I did not pass the test and he will give one on one remediation to the 3 out of 4 of us who did not pass. I had so much memorized from the last 20 years of ACLS and was stunned re the new changes, did not study enough he said, so you will be the one to help me….my job doesn’t even require ACLS, I just always want it, thanks for putting this easy to study and read program. Hi Jeff,
Just wanted to take the time to thank you for this incredibly helpful site. This method of study was just what I needed to feel thoroughly prepared for certification. The practice written exams and mega code simulators helped me really “own” the knowledge needed to face certification day with confidence. What is really funny is that now that I am certified, I use this site like a game board for nurses. My retention rate is amazing! Thanks for a terrific resource. I am sharing this site with those of my co- workers who have not certified yet.
    Sincerely,
    Susan Jaret

    Jeff,
I found your site about a month ago and found it extremely helpful. The megacodes and rapid rhythm identification videos truly capture the essence of what one is expected to know in order to master ACLS. I passed ACLS yesterday!I plan on revisiting your site when my recertification period comes up in 2 years.
    Many thanks,
    CLS

I passed my first time thanks to the help of your website ;). I am eternally grateful to you. Will definitely visit again when it comes time to recertify. I was informed that adenosine can be given 3 times, 6mg for the first time then 12mg and 12mg again. Is this correct?

    • Jeff with admin. says

This is what has been common practice for as long as I have been a nurse and up until 2010, the AHA ACLS provider manual had this listed as the treatment for narrow complex SVT. Now they list to give adenosine 6mg and if no conversion then 12mg. They do not list a 3rd dose.
I have not been able to learn the reason why then do not include the 3rd dose. The only thing that I can figure is if the 12mg dose if required, it is 90% effective for terminating narrow complex SVT. Therefore, most of the time the 3rd dose is not necessary.
I think that most providers are still using the 3rd dose if it is necessary.

      Kind regards,
      Jeff

Thank you SO MUCH for the unbelievable amounts of time and energy that you have obviously put into this site. I feel so much better going into my testing having completed your questions and scenarios. Not only are you an individual of extensive knowledge and ingenuity, but after reading through some of the discussion forums, you also have the patience of Job. I have already passed your website along to some of my colleagues and will continue to do so in the future.

    Many thanks from Canada,

    Amanda, RN

Thank you for your encouragement. As far as patience goes. I’m not sure if I am as patient as Job : ) I do always try and remember how patient God is with me in all of my short comings. This helps me to be patient with others. : )

Thanks again and Many Blessings to you,

      Jeff

Hi Jeff, I am really enjoying this site but am wondering why you did not include the acute stroke algorithm?

This site enabled me to do an excellent job on passing the ACLS course. This program broke the information down which made it easy understand and learn. I have recommended this site to my colleagues.

    Jeff,

I have used your site to help with my studies for ALS in the UK as they have nothing quite similar to it out here yet. Anyhow, I passed with flying American colors. Thank you!! I will be doing ACLS next to compliment the ALS and I’m actually looking forward to it.

    Cheers mate!!
