Awesome site to cram from (just in case you were wondering). Learned much more than if I had attempted to read the book. I work in a level one trauma unit, so all of the information here is useful on a daily basis.

I stumbled across this website while searching for drugs used in ACLS and I am impressed with what I have read so far, the quizzes have helped me with testing my knowledge, and I now know what areas to focus on in reading the ACLS book. I am preparing for ACLS Recertification and i dread reading the book because i dont have much time, but this site has really helped me.
Thank you.

Cardiac arrest to me, means the heart stops…asystole. You do not shock asystole. Question would be better stated as sudden pulselessVT/VF.
Jeff with admin. says
This is what AHA States about cardiac arrest:
“Cardiac arrest is caused when the heart’s electrical system malfunctions. In cardiac arrest death results when the heart suddenly stops working properly. This may be caused by abnormal, or irregular, heart rhythms (called arrhythmias). A common arrhythmia in cardiac arrest is ventricular fibrillation. This is when the heart’s lower chambers suddenly start beating chaotically and don’t pump blood. Death occurs within minutes after the heart stops. Cardiac arrest may be reversed if CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is performed and a defibrillator is used to shock the heart and restore a normal heart rhythm within a few minutes.”

Have enjoyed the practice tests, even though I am from Australia and the protocols / drugs are ever so slightly different , I have found it valuable in preparation for the ACLS yearly review , and definitely have gained more confidence .Would also enjoy some paediatric scenarios as well ,just to mix it up !

Hi jeff,
I was getting nervous bec my ACLS exam will be in a few days and I dread reading the book, until out of the blue I stumbled into your website, I took the cram special and just followed your advice to download the library and make sure I go through all of the subjects.
I took the ACLS today and passed. I missed out on one question because of carelessness, I felt so confident I knew the answer when I was reading the subject but it was paraphrased differently so without digesting the question I picked the wrong answer.
Thank you, I could not have passed without your help through this website. You are Godsend. More power to you.
I also learned a lot from your reply to all the questions from your subscribers, with how you answer I could sense that you have a kind heart.
P.S. I told my colleagues and my daughter who is a fairly new nurse about your website. Thanks again, jeff and cris.
