Great site! Very helpful and informative. It’s my first time getting ACLS certified. This site has been able to point out some of my strengths and weaknesses. I feel much better about testing, and I know which areas I need to focus on.

    Thanks!

    Jeff and Chris,

First, thank you for your service to healthcare providers and this nation. God bless both you and yours for your sacrifices.

I have been an RN since 1983. I took my first (totally indimidating) ACLS class at Ft. Bragg (no, I am not in the US Army or any service branch, I have just had the honor of working alongside many of our finest healthcare providers while living in Fayetteville,NC) I have also been teaching ACLS since about 1988, so I have kept abreast of different websites and teaching methodologies and always try to hone my own. Thanks for a straightforward site packed with essential information.

Thanks indeed for this great effort…Is it predictable when you’ll be able to replace the 2005 algorithms with 2010 editions?

This website is great, too bad I found it after I took ACLS two weeks ago, but while doing the Megacodes, I saw that it is on point! As a result I sent it to a dear friend to review prior to taking her ACLS. Great job, maybe I will see you all doing some military training or working along side/under you. Keeping my fingers crossed. Note: I will re-submit my packet for Direct Commission as a RN for the Army towards the end of this year!

@admin.. reall great site… anyway what guideline its? still 2005 or 2010 already.. thanks and godbless

AHA has put out the new guidelines for 2010. The ACLS guidelines had only a few minor changes. BLS is what saw major changes. I will be posting some of these changes to blog posts over the weeks to come. There were a few things that AHA wanted to emphasize for ACLS and I will highlight these on the blog.
      Thanks for your comment,

i thought that after 3 days of studying my acls provider manual i was ready to take the class and pass the test. it costs $25 to retake the test if you don’t make 84 or better. i took your test and got 50%. yikes hello! you absolutely do help identify which areas to review so i can save $25.
could you look at the pea/asystole study quiz 1 question #3. three common causes are:
your correct answer is all the above…but it’s hypoglycemia not hyperglycemia that is one of the h’s? thanks for the great tool, it’s the best i’ve found on line.

Hi and thanks for your comments, and thank you for pointing out the typo on the pea/asystole quiz.
      Best Regards,
      Jeff with admin.

I AM WORKING AS A CRITICAL CARE NURSE FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, PRESENTLY IN CVICU, EVERY 2 YEARS DOING RENEWAL OF ACLS CERTIFICATE, I FIND IT VERY INTERESTING TO UPDATE MYSELF IN THIS IMPORTANT LIFE SAVING TOOLS ESPECIALLY DURING CODE BLUES, ACTUALLY WE DO IT IN THE UNIT EVEN NOT CALLING FOR CODE BLUES. I FELT HAPPY IF A PATIENT REVIVED IN THIS CRITICAL MOMENT OF THEIR LIVES. THANKS TO MY ACLS KNOWLEDGE THAT WAS IMPARTED TO ME.
