What do you mean about CTA?
Jeff with admin. says
clear to auscultation
Todd says
Question #7 depends on what monitor you are using. Phillips has had some problems lately with recalls etc. Physio Control has not issued a position statement on what energy settings to use with it’s biphasic monitors. It has not changed from 200-300-360.
chris says
Is this under the assumption that we are using a biphasic monitor??
Jeff with admin. says
yes. all questions on this site presume biphasic defibrillator/monitors. Kind Regards, Jeff
Melissa Babineaux says
i was under the impression that you do not shock any pulseless elctrical activity per new protocols.
Chris with admin. says
Hi Melissa,
Ventricular Tachycardia (V-Tach) without a pulse is not the same thing as “PEA”. It is a little confusing. V-Tach has its own algorithm. Check out the link Pulseless Arrest to get a full understanding.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Theresa says
why am I doing unsynchronized now instead of cpr? Not sure I understand this!
Jeff with admin. says
I am assuming that you are talking about question #4
When a patient is in pulseless ventricular tachycardia, the first intervention is to shock if a defibrillator is available. CPR begins after the shock and should consist of 5 cycles (2 minutes).

Megacode review is very good. Do it many times, and it is reasonable to expect to pass. I took EMT-P using 2006 and it was pretty easy to keep the differences in mind. passed!
Static strip prep here is inadequate. The examples are very simple, and if you think that by knowing the strips presented on this site that you will pass EMT-P practicals you are probably wrong.
Jeff with admin. says
This site is will not be adequate for training for EMT-P. It will be adequate for anyone needing ACLS certification. Kind Regards, Jeff
