    Symptoms of a dissecting or ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm can mimic an MI (remember John Ritter?). How is this life-threatening event evaluated since time is so critical and treatment with fibrinolytics can be fatal?

    in PEA if the patient is hypothermic I will warm him according to Hs and Ts ,right? ok if he goes to ROSC ,not responding,I will induce therapeuic hypothermia,right? how it comes warming then cooling,it will damage the cells,right?

      If PEA is known to have been caused by hypothermia. Then warming slowly would be indicated. The case where PEA is caused by hypothermia would probably be rare and most likely would not be in the hospital setting. If PEA is caused by hypothermia I do think that therapeutic hypothermia may be contraindicated.

      After revision of many literatures, it is contraindicated to induce hypothermia if the patient was initially hypothermic below 30 C,

    Hello,
    Please, may you tell me how we know number of atrial frequency? It is one of the questions on ERC ACLS.

      Atrial frequency is determined by counting the p-waves between each QRS. If a person is in atrial flutter and has 5 p-waves for every 1 QRS then the frequency is 5:1.
      If a person has 3 p-waves for every 1 QRS then it would be 3:1.

    I’m really enjoying this site.I joined for 3 months. What a great resource to have and use on MY time….I just love going through the mega codes….this is helping me a lot….I joined just 2-3 days prior to my ACLS recert, and it helped TREMENDOUSLY….fantastic review….and I only had time to do the first 5-6 megacodes and review some other areas….well worth the money

    Even though this is my 10th recertification, I found myself 5 days away from recert. class without having a 2010 book and unable to get ahold of one in any timely manner. Found your website and it is truly a lifesaver! Clear, easy to remember, great video teaching. I know I will be playing that music in my head during megacode on Thursday.

    Recertified for acls today Sept 12. Read the acls textbook which is confusing at times. Your site puts it all into perspective allowing better learning, understanding & reinforcement of all the materials. It’s a great site and so very helpful—-
