Love the color code method for current – review -and answered. As you can see does not take much to make me happy. It makes me take notice, therefore it a learning tool for me. Thanks for all that you do. By the way took PALS in March passed of course I took you course!

    Jeff,
Thank you so much for the availability of this program. I do well during actual codes but have incredible test anxiety each time recertification is due. I tend to over think things and read into the written question. I don’t do that during real emergencies because the variables are usually obvious. Being able to become comfortable with the question format is taking the dread out of my class in October.

Jeff your site is golden for me. I get test anxiety and practice practice practice on your site makes learning much easier. Is there a reminder when time to renew again?

      Joanne,

Thank you so much for the encouraging feedback. The email series that you received from me placed you in a category that will send you an email in approximately 18 months when your two-year mark is coming around for taking the AHA provider course again. You should be notified because of that email series that I sent you.
      Kind regards, Jeff

qESTION #10, IN THE EXPLANATION OF CORRECT ANSWER BEING #4. 100-120 COMPRESSIONS PER MIN., IT STATES THE GUIDELINES WERE CHANGED “FROM” 100-120.
THIS CONFUSED ME BC I GOT THE ANSWER WRONG AND WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE RIGHT ANSWER IS. WISH THE SENTENCE HAD STATED “CHANGED TO”. (BUT I DID FIGURE IT OUT EVENTUALLY.)
THIS IS A VERY GOOD LEARNING TOOL. THANK YOU!

  5. Debra Boling says

Question number two I feel that 3 & 4 are both correct answers. I’m impressed with the course overall but the questions are poorly written, gotcha questions that don’t reflect real learning and need work.

    • Jeff with admin. says

The reason why the answer is (4) 100-120/min and not (3) ≥ 100/min is because ≥ 100/min could be rates greater than 120. AHA specifically states that the chest compression rate should be 100-120/min.
AHA ACLS Provider Manual Pg. 37 states 2015 ACLS Guidelines changed the compression rate from 100/min to 120/min.
The practice questions are designed primarily to teach not to test knowledge. I try not to make gotcha questions, and it is definitely not my intention to try and trick anyone.
      Kind regards, Jeff

I especially appreciate your “gotcha questions” observation. Alternatively, I am exremely grateful for this hidden treasure of tutorials! THANK YOU!!!

      • ACLS says

        Hi Jamie,
Thank you for the encouraging words. I definitely don’t try to create trick questions. It’s my desire to help people learn and master ACLS without stress.
        Kind regards, Jeff

Question 5 refers to limiting interuptions chest compressions to be no more than 10 seconds. I have 5 seconds as the limit prior to defibrillation, but 10 sec for pulse check.

    • Jeff with admin. says

The 5 seconds that you are referring to is the 5 seconds given for clearing the patient and ensuring safety during defibrillation. This would be included as part of the total of less than 10 seconds as this will occur just after the rhythm/pulse check. The total amount of time for cessation of CPR should be less than 10 seconds. Kind regards, Jeff

  7. Zakiyyah says

i chose option 1 early CPR and defib for question 2 and the answer says option 2 is correct- early advanced airway and drugs..is that really correct?

    • Jeff with admin. says

The correct answer is Early CPR and defib. I’m not sure why the quiz showed you option 2 as correct. CPR and early defibrillation is the correct answer. This is also explained in the rationale.

      Kind regards,
      Jeff

Question 6 needs to be re-written, better yet the answer should should be phrased differently. Double negative.. Thanks for the great site for learning !!!

  9. randiehm@hotmail.com says

Question 6 does not make sense to me. I picked the team lead should not be questioned as my answer (since they should be questioned if they were directing someone with wrong doseage) but I got that wrong???? Confused on that one even still with your previous answer.

    • randiehm@hotmail.com says

Must have fat fingered it and hit wrong answer because retook test and answered 6 with #3 again and was correct.
