this will be my first time taking acls dont know what to expect. Was wondering what it is like? and if just focusing on all the algorithms is the way to go? I have read the entire acls book.

The ACLS certification will be similar to the things that you are doing on the site. Practice tests, megacode scenarios, etc.
I don’t think that you need to read the entire book from cover to cover. Do this: As you go through the practice tests on the site, if you miss something or do not understand, look at the rational if you still don’t get something use the page reference in the rational to check the ACLS book.
Make sure that you go through the entire site use the “checklist” in the download library to make sure that you cover everything.
Print out the algorithm flowcharts from the download library and use them as you go through the first few scenarios. After a few scenarios, try to complete the scenario without looking at the flowcharts.
If you do this, you will pass with flying colors.
Kind regards,
Jeff

Thanks for this wonderful and simplified web. Just completed by ACLS/BLS re-certification. It appears to me that 40% of the questions were BLS. De-fibrillation is a major component of BLS. Prioritization is the key, know what to do 1st in every situation. Shock and non-shockable rhythms, when to induce & not induce hypothermia. Otherwise the test id doable.
